Strongman

The way I look at it, God put me into this world to lift heavy shit.

To carry heavy objects.
To throw heavy loads.
To take on big burdens.
To walk the path of my calling and therefore suffer through the pain to reach my goal.

I am a masochist in some way. When I work out, I want to sweat like a dog. I want to scream out loud to the point of agony while I am doing heavy lifts. I want my forearms to be scratched open while lifting heavy stones.

I want to lose myself in the moment. For me, the process of suffering is the way of becoming. When I set myself a goal of hitting new PR’s, or when I am in need of a little competition, suffering is inevitably part of the process.

And in this process of suffering, by putting your body through a rigorous workout regimen, this is when something happens inside.

Your true self comes to light.
You tap into the depths of your inner being.
You develop character and integrity.
You develop strength.
You develop the traits of a leader.
You become an authority.
You build up sex-appeal.
You become someone other people want to
surround themselves with.
You become someone others look up to.
You become someone nobody wants to fuck with!

And to develop all these qualities, you have to go through pain. You have to have the will to suffer.

This is something that is missing in today’s society.

Nobody wants to go through pain.
Nobody wants to suffer.
Nobody wants to be criticized.
Nobody wants to have their feelings hurt.

We are given rewards solely for participating, not for winning!

Most people want to have an easy and comfortable life with no hardships and no downs where everything is shiny and pretty and where we all love each other.

Well the truth is, this is a big fat lie that was sold to us.

This is a fake worldview!
This is not the world we live in.

Life is not just about having a fun time, taking it easy and lying on the fucking couch and staring at the tube all day.

Life is about breaking and rebuilding.

You have to break shit to build shit! Empires rise. Empires fall. Catabolic and Anabolic. This is a natural biological process. This a process that applies to every facet of life. You have to let go of the old you to become the new you. Every season in life brings forth the opportunity to invite something new into your being.

But this something must help you become better and stronger in every way.

If you let out the rotten and don’t fill up with something fresh, sound and good, the demons will return and take over again.

That’s where Strongman fits in.

For me, Strongman is the real true way of clearing the demons out of my body, mind and soul and keeping them eye to eye and not letting them back into my life.

So what exactly is Strongman?

Strongman is a sport where one tests his strength in a variety of non-traditional ways. It blends in compound powerlifting movements, however, physical endurance is also a major part of the training. There are a variety of disciplines to be performed, like Farmers Carry’s, Yoke Walks, Log Presses, Axl Deadlifts, Tire Flips, Sled Drags and more. The most interesting thing here is, all disciplines performed resemble a natural movement pattern, or Primal Pattern Movement, which I coach my clients in. These movements are the Twist, Push, Pull, Bend, Squat, Lunge and Gait. So there is no bullshit isolated machine training here.

There is a whole variety of ways one can mix up his training with Strongman and my knowledge in the science of reps, sets, loads and tempos makes for remarkable results and also my aim is that every training is different than the other.

At my group-workout sessions I emphasize the importance on performing the movements correct with a good posture. There is a lot one can do wrong if not properly coached by someone who has an eye for this.

This training is one of a kind and not something that you can find at every corner or in your typical  globo-gym, where most people just go to hang out at the Fruit-and Yoghurt bar to gossip and stop their training as soon as they break into a sweat.

Here, everything is about breakup and buildup.

This is my philosophy of training and my philosophy of life. There is no other way around it. You have to endure pain to get stronger.

We have to get strong again as a society.

We have to get back to not whining and bitching and pointing our fingers at others for how mean they are.

Here we take responsibility.
Here we develop character.
Here we make shit happen.

This is Strongman and no pretty-boy training, so if your beta-snowflake feelings are hurt because I whispered a little too loud in your pretty little ear, then I am sorry, but this is probably not for you.

But if you are interested in finding out more, then I invite you to come and join me with my tribe of warriors.

We get together Saturdays at 13:00.

Training sessions usually last 2 hours.

Location is at…

Crossfit Mainz
Ober-Saulheimer Str. 24
55286 Wörrstadt

(on the premises of the company WÖBAU)

Once again, if you are afraid of pain, blood, guts, sweat, scratches, bumps and scars, or worried how your hair looks… then this is probably not for you. This is not meant in a derogatory way. It is just a fact that most people want to be comfortable in everything they do.

Here, we get uncomfortable.
Here, a change occurs.
Here, we get our hands dirty.
Here, we become the best and the strongest we can become.

And finally, here we build up a new class of go-getters and ass-kickers.

When the shit hits the fan, and everything around us falls apart, the weak will look up to those who are strong to take the lead and build up society again from it’s shambles.

And those, who these tasks will be assigned to, those are the ones who have a strong body and a strong mind.

Which side will you be on?

So come on the waiting list ...

Here we become the best and strongest that we can become.
